The Hong Kong Tourism Board confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that the fireworks display at Victoria Harbour will proceed at 8 pm as scheduled upon the latest weather forecast by the observatory.
“As weather conditions may remain unstable, spectators for the pyrotechnics are advised to come prepared for rain, pay attention to the latest weather reports, and to prioritize their safety during the event,” a statement by the HKTB read.
“The HKTB will maintain close communication with the observatory and provide further updates as necessary.”
The HKTB also reminded citizens and tourists going to the show to be aware of the latest traffic arrangements in Tsim Sha Tsui and on Hong Kong Island and to follow the instructions of police officers in the area.
