Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made several announcements during her Interim Budget 2024-25 speech that are bound to give the tourism sector a major boost in the country.
She talked about the scope of spiritual tourism in the country and highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing the tourism infrastructure and amenities, particularly focusing on unexplored gem islands like Lakshadweep.
The Finance Minister stated that projects for port connectivity and tourism infrastructure would be initiated to meet the growing interest in domestic tourism.
She further mentioned that the states will be supported and encouraged to comprehensively develop tourist centres and promote them globally.
