More than 650 pilgrims were turned back on their journey to Badrinath due to missing the mandatory registration, according to officials. This move comes as part of the authorities’ efforts to manage the flow of pilgrims to the Char Dham and prevent the chaos witnessed earlier in the yatra season.
At the Gauchar checkpoint, officials confirmed that over 650 unregistered pilgrims were denied entry, along with 120 vehicles transporting them. The Chamoli SSP office reported that five vehicle operators were penalised for bringing unregistered pilgrims to the holy site.
Authorities have emphasised the importance of completing the mandatory registration to avoid such inconveniences. The registration system is strictly enforced to ensure smooth and orderly pilgrimages.
