Vasco: Chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Thursday that religious events such as the Chhath Puja celebration at Baina beach, Vasco, will promote spiritual tourism in Goa.
Sawant performed religious rituals by offering prayers to the Sun God at dusk. The event drew thousands of Goa-settled natives of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh among other states.
“Religious events such as Chhath Puja will definitely help to add tourism activities to the state, especially at Baina beach, which was considered a black spot once upon a time,” Sawant said.
