The Delhi High Court has allowed businessman Umesh Shahra to travel overseas, despite a lookout circular (LOC) against him, on grounds that requests of chairman, managing directors or chief executives of public sector banks to open LOCs against individuals hold no weight, as decided previously by the Bombay High Court. Advocates Ayush Jindal and Pankush Goyal argued that all three LOCs requested by the CBI and Bank of Baroda against Shahra should be cancelled.
