This initiative, marked by a series of personalized meetings and exclusive gatherings in Mumbai and Delhi, aims to showcase Washington, DC’s rich cultural tapestry and diverse attractions beyond its political facade.
Engaging India’s Travel Sector
During the campaign, Mr. Ferguson and his team engaged deeply with the Indian travel industry and media. Their efforts focused on highlighting Washington, DC’s leadership in eco-friendly tourism, its status as the world’s first LEED Platinum City, and the city’s commitment to green spaces like the expansive Rock Creek Park. This outreach is part of a strategic move to tap into India’s burgeoning travel market, with India ranking fourth in international visitor sources to Washington, DC.
