Three men traveling from Bareilly to Dataganj in northern Uttar Pradesh, India last Saturday evening, were fatally killed in an accident. Their vehicle plunged off an incomplete bridge to the Ramganga River bed below: a 50-foot drop that took their lives.
The accident is being blamed on Google Maps, as the men were using the navigation app to direct them to a wedding during the late evening hours last Saturday, unaware that the bridge the satnav tool was guiding them over was unfinished or that it was closed to traffic, due to the absence of road closure signs, warnings, or barriers from India’s Public Works Department indicating so.
