Severe weather, including heavy rain and strong winds, caused significant damage in New Delhi on Friday. The city’s main airport suffered a roof collapse that resulted in one fatality and disrupted flights, while flooding and traffic jams paralyzed the city. The airport area recorded 148.5 millimeters of rainfall in just three hours, surpassing the average rainfall for the entire month of June. The Safdarjung weather station reported a 24-hour rainfall total of 228.1 millimeters, a staggering 266% above normal precipitation levels.
