India is a step closer to its Hyperloop dreams. A 410-meter-long Hyperloop test track has been completed in Tamil Nadu’s Chennai. Located in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras’ Discovery Campus in Thaiyur, the track signals progress in the country’s high-speed transportation goals.
Sharing a video of the Hyperloop test track on X on Thursday (December 5), Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw wrote, “Bharat’s first Hyperloop test track (410 meters) completed.”
He also congratulated Indian Railways, IIT-Madras’ Avishkar Hyperloop team, and TuTr Hyperloop, a deep tech startup incubated at IIT Madras, for the project.
