India’s travel and hospitality sector is on the rise, and Hyatt is ready to make the most of it. In a recent conversation with Storyboard18, two senior executives from Hyatt — Sunjae Sharma, Managing Director for
India and Southwest Asia, and Carina Chorengel, Senior Vice President, Commercial, Asia Pacific — shared the company’s big plans for
India’s growing travel market.
According to Sharma, Hyatt is growing quickly in India. In 2025, the company plans to open seven new hotels and has already signed deals for 21 new properties — the highest ever in India for the brand. This shows Hyatt’s commitment to expanding not just in major cities but also in smaller towns based on where people are travelling.
