Amitabh Kant, India‘s G20 Sherpa and former CEO of Niti Aayog has said that the Indian tourism industry has failed to communicate and convey to the political leadership of the country the multiplier impact tourism has in generating employment at all levels of the economy to harness favourable policies to support the growth of the industry. Kant made this observation while addressing the 6th Hotel Association of India conclave in Delhi. He said that politicians will be keen to extend all possible support if they are convinced of the employment generation capacity of a sector. The tourism sector seems to have failed to communicate that effectively, Kant said.
