In a significant step toward enhancing the Hindu pilgrimage experience, the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, in collaboration with Trip to Temples, has launched India’s first helicopter service to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. The move represents a revolutionary shift in making these sacred destinations more accessible to a broad spectrum of worshippers throughout the year, transcending the limitations of season and challenging terrain.
This initiative offers an unprecedented convenience for pilgrims, inaugurated by an initial group of 18 who took the skies toward the divine peaks. Located in the serene Vyas Valley, Adi Kailash is celebrated as the second dwelling of Lord Shiva along with Parvati, while the mesmerizing Om Parvat, marked with a naturally formed “Om” symbol, sits near the tri-junction of India, Nepal, and Tibet, visible purely from the Indian perspective.
