India’s Medical Value Tourism (MVT) sector faced a steep decline in November and December 2024, with a drop of 43 per cent and 59 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y), respectively, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Tourism. The sector recorded its lowest monthly figure for the year at 30,800 medical tourists in December, highlighting the continued impact of ongoing political tensions between India and Bangladesh.
