As many as 63 Iskcon monks, with valid travel documents, were barred from entering India from Bangladesh over the last two days and were turned back from the Benapole border checkpoint by authorities for “suspicious activities”.
According to International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon), Kolkata and several local media reports in Bangladesh, the monks were stopped from crossing over to India, amid the rising atrocities against minorities, on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
