Following strained diplomatic relations due to demeaning remarks made about India and its Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, a Maldives’ government minister has reached out to Indian citizens to participate in Maldivian tourism, as their economy is reliant upon it. The Tourism Minister, Ibrahim Faisal, highlighted the long-standing history shared by India and Maldives. He stated that the recently elected government in Maldives wishes to strengthen its ties with India. Faisal added the Maldivian government and its people always foster a peaceful and friendly environment.
