In a recent survey done by the 2024 Cost of Living by HR consultancy Mercer, Mumbai has reaffirmed its position as India’s most expensive city for expatriates. Since the survey’s beginning in 2013, Mumbai has consistently topped the list within India. Globally, Mumbai has climbed 11 places compared to the previous year, now ranking 136th among 226 cities surveyed.
