- Saqib Mahmood will not be travelling to India with Lancashire on pre-season
- Mahmood visited Pakistan in December after the death of his grandmother
- The England-capped seamer will remain in Dubai to increasing his bowling loads
Lancashire will travel to India for their pre-season training tour without Saqib Mahmood after failing to apply for a visa.
Despite the fact the county were aware of their plans to go to Bangalore as early as last season, an application for Mahmood’s visa application was never actually submitted by the county, due to a range of factors.
Lancashire left it till midway through January to begin the paperwork, with the death of Mahmood’s grandmother in December meaning that he used his passport to visit Pakistan late last year.
On a visit to the Consulate General of India in Birmingham last month, Mahmood was then told that he needed to go to the High Commission of India in London instead and with no guarantee that the application would be turned around…
