Tokyo is now in full bloom with cherry blossoms, drawing hundreds of tourists and residents alike. People are flocking to Tokyo’s prime cherry blossom viewing spots to relish in the full bloom, which arrived later than usual this year due to the cold weather. The graceful dark branches adorned with pink and white blossoms, known as sakura in Japanese, cascaded over the moat of the Imperial Palace, attracting people who gathered to capture photos or simply bask in the picturesque scene.
Referring to this, a local expressing his excitement added, “Cherry blossoms are so symbolic and make everything around you feel joyful and beautiful. It makes me feel that I’ve made a good start in the year ahead.” He annually visits Chidorigafuchi Park beside the moat in central Tokyo, and shares sentiments of appreciation for the tradition.
