Trichy: The tourism department plans to initiate various development projects including a theme park at Mukkombu to improve tourism in Trichy and other delta districts.
The park, developed under the public private partnership, will fulfil the lack of a dedicated theme park along the Cauvery or the Kollidam rivers.
“The theme park would be set up with the collaboration of an investor. It would be implemented by the water resources department. The work will begin soon,” said an official with the tourism department.
A senior WRD official said, “After the completion of the theme park, we will also take charge of maintenance of the park.”
