Uzbekistan marked its significant presence at SATTE 2024, emphasising the strengthening of tourism ties with India. The Silk Tourism Minister, Axhor Sarovar, expressed the commitment of Uzbekistan to enhance collaboration with the Indian market, which has been identified as a top priority for the Central Asian nation.

Sarovar, while addressing the media at SATTE 2024, highlighted the remarkable growth in tourist arrivals from India over the past year. “The statistics speak for themselves – we are delighted to announce that the number of Indian tourists visiting Uzbekistan tripled in 2023 compared to the previous year,” he stated. Uzbekistan recorded 45,000 Indian visitor arrivals in 2023, registering a staggering 200 per cent growth over 15,000 arrivals recorded in 2022.
This outstanding achievement reflects the growing interest of Indian travelers in exploring the rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and picturesque landscapes that Uzbekistan has to offer.
