The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is foreseeing an extraordinary year for Travel & Tourism in 2024, with the sector’s global economic contribution anticipated to reach an unprecedented USD 11.1 trillion.
According to WTTC’s 2024 Economic Impact Research (EIR), Travel & Tourism is projected to add an additional USD 770 billion compared to its previous record, solidifying its position as a global economic powerhouse, responsible for generating one in every ten dollars worldwide.
As the global sector surpasses its pre-pandemic prosperity, WTTC anticipates that 142 out of 185 analyzed countries will outshine their previous national records.
In collaboration with Oxford Economic, WTTC’s latest EIR presents a sector ripe with opportunities, supporting nearly 348 million jobs globally. This marks an increase of more than 13.6 million jobs compared to its peak in 2019.
