Nepal And England Climbers Successfully Break Most Records Climbing Everest

JAKARTA – Two climbers, one of whom is from England, set a record as the climber who most successfully conquered the summit of Everest, the world’s highest mountain, breaking their own record, climbing officials said last week.

Nepal’s Tourism Department Director Rakesh Gurung said UK climbers Kenton Cool (50) and our Nepalese guide Rita Sherpa (54) managed to reach a peak of 8,849 meters, respectively for the 18th and 29th times.

They are on separate expeditions guiding their clients. The two climbers used the Southeast Backline to the summit.

“He continues to run and continues. Amazing man!” saidbely Madison of US-based expedition organizer Madison Mountaineering about the Nepalese climber.

Madison has teamed up with Us Rita to climb the summits of Everest, Lhotse and K2 in 2014.

K2, located in Pakistan, is the world’s second-highest mountain and the Lhotse in Nepal is the fourth-highest mountain.

We Rita first climbed Everest in 1994 and have been doing it almost every year since, except for three years when authorities closed the mountain for various reasons. He climbed the mountain twice last year.

Meanwhile, Lukas Furtenbach of Austrian expedition operator Furtenbach Adventures, said Cool’s achievements were extraordinary.

“He is a fundamental part of the Everest guide industry. Kenton Cool is an institution,” said Furtenbach, who led the expedition from the Chinese side of Everest.

Dipeloporized by the first mountain climber, Sirten Hillary of New Zealand and Sherpa Tengg Norgay in 1953, the Southeast Back route remains the most popular route to the summit of Everest.

Climbing the mountain is a major tourism activity and a source of income and employment for Nepal, which is home to eight of the world’s 14 highest peaks, including Everest.

This year, Nepal has issued 414 permits, each spending $11,000 for climbers for the climbing season ending this month.
