POKHARA, Dec 13: Nepal recorded its highest number of tourist arrivals in 2019. Government figures show that a total of 1.197 million foreign visitors entered Nepal that year. However, the onset of the coronavirus pandemic caused a sharp decline in tourist arrivals, leaving the sector in a state of crisis.
The impact of the pandemic on tourism was evident from early 2020 as fears of infection began to grow.
