Amritsar: Pakistan boasts a rich Sikh heritage, and to promote it as a religious tourism destination, its government has partnered with organisations promoting tourism and Punjabi culture, aiming to attract Sikhs from around the world to visit their heritage and religious sites. This contributes to help Pakistan’s dwindling economy as well.
Tania Qureshi, director of marketing, tourism, and culture at the Wall City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), said on Tuesday, “Today, WCLA has partnered with World Center for Punjabi (WCP) and Jiyana Travels to enhance tourism experiences for Sikh pilgrims visiting the region,” adding that a memorandum of understanding was signed to give enhanced tourism experiences for Sikh pilgrims.
