ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Wednesday said that the development of a robust communication system and essential infrastructure in Gilgit-Baltistan was important to ensure its sustainable development.
During a meeting with a 17-member delegation from the Royal Foundation of Gilgit-Baltistan, led by Raja Nazimul Amin, Prime Minister Kakar highlighted the potential of improved infrastructure in boosting tourism and driving economic growth in the region.
Acknowledging the region’s rich natural resources and the hospitable nature of its people, Prime Minister Kakar noted the positive impact of upgrading Skardu Airport to an international facility on tourism. He mentioned the growing interest of multiple countries in collaborating with Pakistan to tap into the tourism sector’s potential.
