Pakistan and Bangladesh Forge Stronger Business and Tourism Ties

Islamabad, Pakistan – September 25, 2025 – A significant step towards enhancing bilateral economic and tourism relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh was taken today with the successful hosting of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Business and Tourism Opportunity Conference and the third Pakistan Exhibition in Dhaka. Organized by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), the event underscored a shared commitment to unlocking the vast potential for collaboration between the two South Asian nations.

The conference, aimed at fostering deeper business-to-business linkages and promoting tourism, brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including business leaders, trade officials, and tourism operators from both countries. The primary objective was to identify new avenues for trade, investment, and mutual growth, with a particular focus on sectors that offer considerable untapped potential.

A key highlight of the event was the inauguration of the third Pakistan Exhibition in Dhaka. This exhibition serves as a vital platform for Pakistani businesses to showcase their products and services directly to the Bangladeshi market, while also providing Bangladeshi consumers with greater access to Pakistani goods. The exhibition is expected to drive increased trade and consumer interest, further strengthening economic ties.

Discussions at the conference centered on several critical areas. Participants explored opportunities in sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, construction, information technology, and handicrafts. The potential for increased tourism was also a major focal point, with delegates discussing ways to facilitate easier travel, promote cultural exchange, and develop joint tourism packages. The aim is to leverage the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of both nations to attract more visitors.

RCCI President, Mr. Saqib Hussain, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in building robust economic partnerships. He highlighted that the conference provided an invaluable opportunity for Pakistani businesses to understand the Bangladeshi market dynamics and for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to discover the offerings from Pakistan. The event is envisioned as a catalyst for increased trade volume and diversified economic cooperation.

The sentiment among participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing optimism about the future of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations. The establishment of stronger trade links and the promotion of tourism are seen not only as beneficial for businesses but also for fostering greater people-to-people connections and mutual understanding between the two nations. The organizers expressed their commitment to continued engagement and support for businesses looking to explore opportunities in either market. This conference and exhibition represent a concrete move towards a more integrated and prosperous South Asian economic landscape.
