Marina Bay Sands’ The Legend of the Dragon Gate drone light show proved to be wildly popular over the Chinese New Year weekend. Those with plans to catch the remaining three shows this week, be aware – the original dates and times have been rescheduled. The drone light show will now happen on February 15, 16, and 18 (the February 17 show is no longer happening). Instead of 8pm, the show will commence at 9pm for all dates.

If you were planning to head down to The Legend of the Dragon Gate drone light show tonight, take note that the show’s first day has been postponed to February 10, 8pm due to unforeseen circumstances. Subsequent shows will happen on February 11, 12, 16, 17, and 18 at 8pm – the February 12 show being an additional one to make up for today’s cancellation.
There’s no need to be too disappointed. Get your fill of festive razzle dazzle at Marina Bay Sands’ Chinese New Year Light Up, The Dragon Awakens. Besides a slight delay to 7.30pm, it will continue as planned tonight. There’s much to look forward to, such as a reveal of two majestic 40m-long dragons in front of a dragon gate, dragon and lion dances, koi dancers, and a performance by local singer Nathan Hartono.

The Marina Bay waterfront is lighting up this Lunar New Year with a dazzling drone light show. Titled The Legend of the Dragon Gate, the event will see 1,500 drones take to the sky to tell the story of the mythical Dragon King.
The 10-minute performance starts at 8pm on February 6, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18. The story draws on the legend of the dragon gate (longmen), which is said to lie at the top of a waterfall that flows from a mythical mountain. Carps that are persistent enough to swim upstream and make the final, brave leap through the dragon gate are believed to turn into a powerful dragon. Filled with themes of family, reunions, and perseverance, and many symbols of luck and prosperity, the light show is an auspicious one to usher in the Year of the Dragon.
After the drone light show, stick around for the magical Spectra – A Light & Water Show, which runs at 8.30pm and 9.30pm on these dates. The free 15-minute performance is just as magnificent, featuring fountain jets, colourful projections, lasers, and special effects set to an orchestra soundtrack.
