The tourism chief for the city stated that Hong Kong embraces “healthy competition” in response to the attention surrounding Singapore being the sole Asian stop for Lady Gaga’s concert in May.
Speaking on a radio program on Tuesday, Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui said it is common for international stars to choose Hong Kong for their performances and concerts, while some might opt for Macau, China, or Singapore instead.
Although Hong Kong offers plenty of event venues, she noted that the city cannot host every star who might want to perform here.
