Kim Jin-jin, who debuted with “Nice Jean Time” in 2008, and a police webtoon artist who became popular with “Spirit Fingers” returned with cartoons about their travel to Singapore.
The Singapore Tourism Organization will showcase “Sweet Singapore Season 2,” a Singapore-branded webtoon, in partnership with Naver Webtoon as part of a global promotional event called “Made in Singapore” that revives Singapore’s travel passion.
“Made in Singapore” illuminates Singapore’s leading tourist attractions and hidden gem-like places to show how ordinary moments in daily life turn into special experiences in Singapore.
The upcoming series of “Sweet Singapore Season 2” consists of episodes of “Nice Singapore Time,” the sequel to Kim Jin’s popular webtoon “Nice Jean Time,” and “Singapore Fingers,” the sequel to the young webtoon “Spirit Fingers” by a police writer who was much loved by readers.
In “Nice Singapore Time,” Kim Jin’s family and Singapore tour guide “Sing” meet to see various family-tailored experience activities and tourist attractions in Singapore. The main characters visit various Singaporean tourist attractions such as Merlion Park, Singapore Flyer, Sentosa Island, and Skyhelix Sentosa, a vertical spiral rescue ride, to introduce entertainment and unique experiences that even young nephews can enjoy together.
Readers who read Kim Jin’s pre-released “Nice Singapore Time” webtoon responded enthusiastically, saying, “It’s so nice to go on a trip with my nephew Guri, who grew up well after a long time,” “I want to ride a hyper drive,” and “I must try it because there are so many different activities in Singapore.”
“Singapore Fingers” unravels a more romantic narrative by containing famous tourist attractions in Singapore in the meeting of a coincidental and Kijeong couple who met dramatically in Singapore. Coincidence and Gi-jeong visit Singapore’s beautiful and romantic attractions such as the Singapore Botanic Garden, Kampong Glam, Singapore River Cruise Ship, and Cloud Forest, and have time to reaffirm each other’s hearts.
This season’s webtoon, which has been serialized every Friday since the 8th, has been produced four times, twice each.
“We collaborated with Naver Webtoon, the world’s No. 1 Storytech platform, to convey Singapore’s various charms to Koreans in a fun and friendly way,” said Serene Tan, director of North Asia at the Singapore Tourism Organization. “We are glad to be able to convey places such as Singapore’s famous attractions and unknown hidden gems more vividly through the paintings of popular webtoon artists.”
In addition, the Singapore Tourism Organization will release an animation video using the Sweet Singapore brand webtoon on the 29th. “Nice Singapore Time” and “Singapore Fingers” are presented as one webtoon animation, respectively, and the video can be found on the official Instagram of the Singapore Tourism Organization and the official YouTube account of Naver Webtoon.
