Singapore’s Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong, has drawn attention to the country’s achievements in developing its tourism sector, while warning against complacency as other countries increase their competitiveness. 27 individuals and businesses were celebrated at the Singapore Tourism Awards for their role in boosting the sector. Notably, Mrs Pamelia Lee, who pioneered the country’s first tourism master plan in the 80s, was awarded a lifetime achievement award. Special recognition was also given to Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport Group for their efforts to recover the industry after the pandemic.
