Japan, crowned the world’s favorite travel destination by Condé Nast Traveler readers, welcomed a record 691,100 Singaporean tourists in 2024, a 17% increase year-on-year.
The surge was attributed to the stronger Singapore dollar against the Japanese yen and the launch of new flight routes between the two countries, The Straits Times reported, citing the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Singapore Office.
“A stronger Singapore dollar made Japan more affordable and appealing,” said JNTO.
