The Mother City of “perfectly percolated caffeine culture”, as The Citizen puts it, has just been recognised by Food & Wine magazine’s 2024 list of the World’s Top 10 Cities for Coffee.
Determined by a Global Tastemakers panel of more than 180 travel and drinks experts, the ranking celebrates the best culinary destinations worldwide.
“Globally, we consume about 2.25 billion cups a day. But where, exactly, can you find the best cup?”, the prestigious US culinary magazine asks.
Well, Cape Town, it turns out, is one such place.
While the Danish capital of Copenhagen rates as the best destination for globe-trotting caffeine cravers, Cape Town was awarded the ninth spot.
