South Africa’s Minister of Tourism Patricia de Lille has been appointed to serve as joint Vice Chair of UN Tourism’s Executive Council – the global agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism – with Czechia as second Vice Chair. Brazil will chair in 2025.
De Lille’s election comes as South Africa assumes the G20 presidency in 2025.
Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni said this will strengthen South Africa’s role in boosting economic growth for Africa.
