South Africa is set to simplify its visa process for tourists from India and China, introducing a streamlined system to encourage travel and boost its tourism sector. Beginning mid-February 2025, South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs will start receiving group visa applications through selected tour operators, significantly reducing processing time and making travel more accessible.
To facilitate this change, the South African government launched the Trusted Tour Operator Scheme (TTOS) in January 2025. Under this initiative, 65 tour operators from South Africa, India, and China have been approved to submit group visa applications on behalf of tourists.
