Kenya has launched the Magical Kenya Mountain & Trail Series – a collaboration between the Kenya Tourism Board and Athletics Kenya – aimed at enhancing the country’s profile as a premier sports tourism destination. The series kicks off on January 13 in Laikipia and winds through Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Uasin Gishu and Nandi County before ending with the Tinderet Barngetuny Mountain Run on January 18.
Peter Angwenyi, Chairman of Athletics Kenya Mountain Running, highlighted the collaboration’s significance: “Mountain running in Kenya is enhancing sports tourism. We are appealing to Kenyans to turn up in great numbers for this six-day series.”
