Thursday 01.02 -First day Cape Town
After a pleasant 14-hour flight from Helsinki to Cape Town, I landed around 12:30 PM and rendezvoused with our singer, Phil, who had flown in from Germany and arrived slightly before me. We hailed an Uber and headed straight to the venue to meet guitarist Jason and drummer Tobias, who had arrived a few days ahead of us.
Upon arrival, Phil and I were greeted by the rest of the Slam Dank Productions crew, who had organized the tour, as well as the locals from Displeased Disfigurement, who were accompanying us on the tour. We conducted a sound check as a four-piece since guitarist Mats (the founder and original member) couldn’t make his flight due to some passport issues.
