The Kruger Gate Hotel, situated at the Paul Kruger Gate of the iconic Kruger National Park, is currently undergoing a comprehensive soft refurbishment. This significant renovation project, which commenced in late 2023, is anticipated to be fully completed by June 2024. The hotel remains fully operational throughout the refurbishment period, ensuring a continuous and uninterrupted experience for its guests.

The boma area and the pool area are also receiving significant upgrades, alongside improvements to the curio shop and the children’s facilities. The design inspiration for these enhancements is deeply rooted in the local culture and the natural environment surrounding the Kruger National Park, incorporating elements that reflect the unique setting and heritage of the region.

### Brand Transition and Management

A crucial element of this project is the hotel’s upcoming rebranding. Upon the conclusion of the refurbishment, the Kruger Gate Hotel will transition from its current designation as an A Tribute Portfolio Hotel to a Marriott Hotels brand. This change is expected to further elevate the hotel’s standing within the Marriott International portfolio. African Hotels and Adventures (AHA Hotels & Lodges) continues to manage the property, a role it has held since 2022. Previously, Southern Sun was noted as the owner and manager of the hotel. AHA’s ongoing management ensures operational consistency and a seamless transition during and after the refurbishment and brand change.
