Reaching an in-flight connectivity milestone, Qatar Airways has completed its first commercial flight with Starlink’s high-speed internet service in a Boeing 777. The flight from Doha to London earlier this month introduced free, ultra-high-speed, low-latency internet from gate to gate for all passengers.
The airline plans to install Starlink across its entire Boeing 777 fleet by the end of 2025, making it the first airline in the MENA region to offer this technology. Initially, Starlink will be installed in 12 Boeing 777-300s by the end of 2024. The service is also expected to be available in the Airbus A350 fleet by summer 2025.
