South Africa is taking steps to attract more Indian visitors by simplifying visa regulations. Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille announced plans for an e-visa system and visa waivers of up to 90 days for Indian tourists at the recent Africa Indaba tourism fair.
In the first quarter of 2024, South Africa welcomed 16,000 Indian arrivals, reflecting growing interest. De Lille said the government is considering a proposal to grant Indian and Chinese tourists visa waivers for stays up to 90 days, the same policy currently in place for Russian and Brazilian visitors.
