Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) recorded a 9.5% increase in visitor numbers over the festive season with 232 420 entries across gates and picnic sites in December 2024 compared to 213 160 in 2023. The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway also saw significant growth with 130 675 visitors – a 19.4% rise from the previous year.
Despite higher footfall, crime incidents remained stable with 60 reported cases across November, December and January compared to 64 incidents the previous year. Notably, robberies decreased by 40% due to the combined efforts of law enforcement agencies and interventions by South African National Parks (SANParks).
