Tapestry Collection by Hilton is set to make its debut in South Africa with the opening of two new hotels in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, by the end of 2024. These purpose-built hotels will be located along the N4 toll route, specifically at the N4 TRAC Middelburg Plaza, as part of a larger mixed-use development.
The strategic decision to introduce Tapestry Collection, known for its distinctive and independent-minded hotels, aligns with Hilton’s ongoing expansion in South Africa and across the African continent. The N4 corridor is identified as a critical artery for both business and tourism, connecting Gauteng to Mpumalanga and Mozambique, which creates a strong demand for hospitality offerings in the region.
NEPI Rockcastle is named as the owner of these new Tapestry Collection properties, developed in collaboration with Trans African Concessions (TRAC), which operates the N4 toll route. Upon their opening, these hotels will mark Hilton’s 12th property in South Africa and its 24th across Africa, further solidifying its presence. Tapestry Collection by Hilton is currently present in 15 countries and territories globally, and these additions will extend its reach within Africa. Hilton currently has 49 hotels operating or under development across the continent.
