The second annual Tourism Investment Forum Africa (TIFA) – scheduled to run alongside WTM Africa from April 10-12 at the CTICC in the host city of Cape Town – has announced its high-level line-up of speakers.
“Central to the discussions at TIFA will be the need to grow not only intra-Africa trade in services (tourism) but also cross-border investments in this and other sectors of the economy,” said Miller Matola, CEO of Millvest Advisory, the conveners of TIFA.
He added that TIFA is seeking to attract private equity and venture capital companies with an interest in the tourism and related sectors.
“Discussions will also home in on the role of capital markets in providing financing, for hospitality ventures given the generally held view that financial institutions are more risk averseness when it comes to financing the sector,” said Matola.
