The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advice for Uganda, relaxing its suggestions for the southern region. In contrast, it still recommends avoiding all but essential travel in certain western regions. Initially issued in October last year, the advice followed an attack in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, in which two foreign tourists and their guide were killed. The newly updated FCDO advisory notes that it now deems travel to the southern section of Kibale Forest National Park and Kibale Forest Corridor Game Reserve safe.
