The newly-launched first direct flight route between King Shaka International Airport and Sir Seretse Khama International Airport has attracted over 2000 passengers since the route opened in December 2024.
The launch is part of a strategic initiative to enhance regional connectivity and promote tourism between Botswana and South Africa.

Speaking to The Witness in Kasane, Botswana, Air Botswana head of PR, communications and marketing Malebogo Sesinyi said the first direct flight from Durban to Botswana was launched through a partnership between Air Botswana, Botswana Tourism organisation, Durban Tourism and KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film.
