After a 14-month renovation and investment of R2.5 million (€122 475), Meropa Casino & Entertainment World in Limpopo has unveiled its newly launched WildThingz Bird and Reptile Park, and water park.
The well-established Polokwane Pets & Hobbies store, owned by Andrew Fraser, has opened at Meropa to care for the birds and reptiles, which include both local and international species such as Rosy-faced and Fischer’s lovebirds, common parakeet, Kakariki, Bobwhite quail, Zebra doves and finches, Indian ring necks, Red-and-green macaw, as well as lemurs and the smallest fox, the Fennec.
For reptile admirers, there are yellow anacondas, Honduran milk snakes, Eastern Chain Kingsnakes, Red-tailed boas, various types of pythons, and Butterfly lizards.
Wild Thingz is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 09h00 until 17h00 and offers daily snake shows and guided tours.
