Thailand is gearing up for a huge increase in tourism, expecting record-breaking visitor numbers from Malaysia, India, South Korea, and Russia by 2024. This anticipated surge is due to strong government support and soft power initiatives. The Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) projects that arrivals from Malaysia alone will reach 5 million this year, topping the pre-Covid peak of 4.27 million in 2019. ATTA President Sisdivachr Cheewarattanaporn also revealed that the ATTA foresees 2 million visitors each from India and South Korea – higher than their respective 2019 figures of 1.96 million and 1.88 million.
