Dozens of people have been killed and hospitalised in a Turkish tourist hotspot after drinking bootleg alcohol.
Local media reported that the death toll in Istanbul related to fake booze has risen to 17 this week, while 22 people have so far been sent to hospital, with just seven being discharged.
Authorities have so far arrested eight people in connection with the illegal alcohol, after raiding locations in Sisli, Beyoglu, Fatih, Kagithane, Esenyurt, Umraniye, Uskudar, Sultangazi, and Bakirkoy.
