FTAN and Turkish Embassy to Enhance International Tourism Collaboration
The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) and the Turkish Embassy in Nigeria are set to bolster international tourism cooperation. This strategic alliance aims to foster greater collaboration in the tourism sector between Nigeria and Turkey.
The partnership was initiated following a meeting between the National President of FTAN, Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, and the Ambassador of Turkey to Nigeria, Mr. Hidayet Bayraktar. The discussions focused on how both entities can work together to promote tourism, leverage existing opportunities, and address challenges within the industry.
Objectives of the Collaboration
The core objective of this cooperation is to strengthen the tourism ties between the two nations. This includes promoting Nigeria as a tourist destination to Turkish citizens and vice versa, as well as facilitating easier travel and tourism-related exchanges.
FTAN expressed its commitment to working closely with the Turkish Embassy to achieve these goals. The association highlighted the potential for increased tourist arrivals and economic benefits that such collaboration could bring to both countries. The discussions also touched upon the need for mutual understanding and support in developing and marketing tourism products and services.
The Turkish Embassy, through Ambassador Bayraktar, conveyed its readiness to support FTAN’s initiatives. The embassy aims to play a crucial role in facilitating introductions and fostering stronger relationships between Nigerian tourism stakeholders and their Turkish counterparts. This includes exploring avenues for joint marketing campaigns and cultural exchange programs that highlight the unique tourism offerings of both Nigeria and Turkey.
This initiative is expected to lead to a more robust and dynamic tourism sector for both Nigeria and Turkey, creating new opportunities for businesses and enhancing the travel experience for tourists.
