UK nationals headed to Spain and Turkey this year have been warned about an important April deadline to ensure smooth sailing. The Government announced its new passport fees this week, but punters can still beat the price rush if they renew now.
The application fee for a new passport will rise as of April 11, 2024, so if your passport is close to expiring, it may be a good idea to renew before then if you don’t want to pay more than you need to. The price of a standard online application will rise from £82.50 to £88.50 – while a child’s passport will go up from £53.50 to £57.50.
Postal applications will rise too, jumping from £93 to £100 for adults – and from £64 to £69 for youngsters. Brits abroad will be hit the hardest though, with the price of a standard overseas application rocketing to £112.50 for adults and £77 for children.
