The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has sounded the alarm for Brits travelling to a beloved holiday spot after a spate of serious illnesses and deaths. The updated alert highlighted that multiple holidaymakers have suffered grave consequences in Turkey due to consuming illegally made local booze.
Last Friday, the FCDO stated: “There has been an increase in the number of deaths and serious illnesses in Turkey, including in Ankara and Istanbul, caused by drinking illegally produced local spirits and counterfeit bottles of branded alcohol.”
Those currently in or considering a trip to Turkey are advised to stay vigilant.
